Evidentiary scope

The page rests on the strainguide entry Jamaican Blue Mountains, read through its Wayback capture of 29 January 2008. Éloise 22:08, 12 October 2026 (+07)

Georeferencing

The entry's point, "18.0333,-76.5666,6", is the strainguide's own placing of the entry on its world map (latitude, longitude and zoom level). It is entered as published, 18.0333, -76.5666. It reverse-geocodes in OpenStreetMap (6 October 2026) to Saint Thomas parish, Surrey County, Jamaica, in the place the entry names. The Blue Mountains run across three parishes and the entry names none, so no parish is entered. One pixel of the map at zoom level 6 is about 2 km across, which is the uncertainty given. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: about 2 km. Éloise 22:08, 12 October 2026 (+07)

Editorial treatment

  • Accession ID. VIB-JAM-UNK-0119840001: VIB; JAM; UNK, the Blue Mountains being a range, not an administrative unit; 01; 1984, the stated collection year; 0001.
  • Collection date. 1984, from "Collected in 1984".
  • Flowering. Left empty: "probably between 12 and 15 weeks" is hedged by the report itself.
  • Possible duplicate. Mustafunk's 2018 list names a JBM85 (see VIB-JAM-UNK-0100000002). "JBM" may stand for Jamaican Blue Mountain(s), and 85 is a year off this entry's 1984; nothing read says they are the same seed, so they are separate accessions. Éloise 22:08, 12 October 2026 (+07)
