Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The catalogue places a cannabis plant at Maipú, a commune of Greater Santiago, in January 2017. Its status Introducido does not say whether the plant was cultivated, escaped or growing wild, and the catalogue gives no habitat. The accession therefore documents the plant's presence. It is classified Other. A single sheet does not establish a landrace or a continuing population. No conservation priority is assigned.
Label reading
The label has not been read. GBIF lists no image for this sheet or for any sheet of the herbarium's dataset, and Index Herbariorum lists no online catalogue for the herbarium (checked 5 October 2026). The article rests on the catalogue entry published through GBIF.
Georeferencing
The catalogue names the commune of Maipú and no point within it, and gives no coordinates. The stored point, −33.52, −70.77, is Wikidata's point for the commune (Q16918: −33.516667, −70.766667) at two decimals. It is an area point for the commune, not a collection point: OpenStreetMap's boundary for Maipú (relation 168259) spans about 13 km north to south and 20 km east to west. The catalogue gives no altitude to check it against.
Editorial treatment
The title takes the s.n. form with the locality because the catalogue gives no collector number. The collector field takes the first-named collector, M.I. Rojas; the collector number field adds et al. for Jessica Soto. The catalogue number is given with the herbarium's code, VALPL 2163; the catalogue stores the number alone in the collection VALPL_PLV. The repository name is Index Herbariorum's.
