Evidentiary scope
A plant gathered in Johannesburg in 1909 by a collecting clergyman whose herbarium was later sold to Zurich. The label records a city and nothing about the setting. The catalogue gives a collector, a number, a date and a locality. It is a single gathering and shows neither a continuing population nor a living germplasm holding, so it supports neither a landrace nor a feral classification. The accession is classified Other. No conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
The catalogue gives -26.21844, 28.041622, which is the centre of Johannesburg. The label names the city and no more, so the point is a gazetteer look-up on the city name rather than a field reading. It is carried on the ruling of 23 September 2026 and should be read as somewhere in Johannesburg.
Editorial treatment
The image carries no licence at Zurich or at GBIF, and is used under a fair-use rationale. A licence request would settle it.
The collector's herbarium was bought by Zurich in 1930 and the sheet was accessioned in 1932, twenty-three years after the gathering. Neither date is a collection date.
