Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The article rests on the RSC listing for Bokeo #2 and on the Kwik Seeds listing of the same line. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose). The listings place the landrace in the Bokeo region, immediately east of the Mekong. They name no district, village or farmer. The isolation of the source communities and the purity of the seed are RSC's statements. The conservation priority (High) was entered when the page was created in March 2026. The rationale then stood in the article, unsourced: "As of 2022, the source population is geographically isolated from modern hybrid genetics. However, also in 2022, Thailand legalised cannabis, collapsing much of the export oriented black market cultivation in Laos." Neither listing states the second sentence, so it is recorded here. Georeferencing
The listings name the Bokeo region, immediately east of the Mekong. RSC gives a latitude of 20° N. The coordinate entered at creation, 20.283, 100.417, lies at Moungkhounsin village in Houayxay District, Bokeo Province (OpenStreetMap reverse lookup), close to the Mekong. It is now rounded to two decimal places, 20.28, 100.42, which is the precision the wiki's privacy policy calls for. It marks an area near the provincial capital, not a collection site. Editorial treatment
Conform pass of 16 September 2026. The article was compared with the current RSC listing and with the Kwik Seeds listing. It was rewritten so that each statement is attributed to one of them, with CS1 citations.
- Province changed from
BokeotoBokeo Province, the form the naming convention requires. - Minimum height 2 m added from Kwik Seeds ("Approx 2 to 4 metres").
- Corrected: the article said Bokeo Province lies immediately east of the Mekong. The listing places the landrace there, not the province.
- Removed from the article: "the accession is autochthonous" (a field value, not a listing statement) and the conservation rationale (moved above). Photoperiod
Short-dayand introgressionMinimalfollow the other RSC accessions; neither listing states them. Éloise 23:19, 16 September 2026 (+07)
Source discrepancies
- Germination. RSC: "close to 100% germination rates". Kwik Seeds: "good germination rates".
- Height. RSC: "Up to 4 metres". Kwik Seeds: "Approx 2 to 4 metres".
- Location. RSC: "immediately east of the Mekong". Kwik Seeds: "east from the Mekong".
- Genetics line. RSC: "Lao – Thai Cannabis Landrace". Kwik Seeds: "Traditional Lao – Thai Ganja Domesticate".
- Only on Kwik Seeds. A paragraph criticising outside studies of landraces, not used in the article.
- Archived versions. The Wayback Machine holds 11 versions of the RSC listing, from July 2022 to May 2026. All were read, and all give the 2022 sourcing.
- From July 2022 to May 2024 they give "Height: 2 – 4 metres" and "Seed to harvest = 6 months"; from January 2025, "Up to 4 metres" and "approx 5 to 6 months".
- "Classification: C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica" appears from July 2022 to April 2025.
- The paragraph on outside studies that Kwik Seeds still carries was on the RSC listing from July 2022 to April 2025.
- The article cites the versions of 3 July 2022 and 25 April 2025. Éloise 02:50, 17 September 2026 (+07)
Photographs
The infobox image is the photograph uploaded in March 2026. Its caption now says what it shows, and it has alt text. The gallery adds four more photographs from the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution. The listing does not say where, when or by whom they were taken, so the captions say only what each image shows. The Kwik Seeds listing's main image repeats the infobox photograph and is not used. The earlier Bokeo now has a page
The Bokeo this listing calls "our earlier 'Bokeo' offering" is, on the name RSC quotes, the ex-stock Bokeo it gave away on 8 April 2021 on both of its shops. It now has a page, Bokeo General Population 2021. It never had a listing of its own. A Bokeo Lao that RSC gave away in 2009 is a different lot (Éloïse, 18 September 2026) and has no page; see Talk:RSC-LAO-BOK-0120210001. The infobox here gains related_accession = RSC-LAO-BOK-0120210001, and the sentence in Collection Details now links it. Éloise 07:38, 18 September 2026 (+07)
