Correction: map pin

The coordinates shown on this page and the ones used by the map did not agree. Since 5 May 2026 the page had shown a malformed value, with a doubled minus sign and fifteen decimal places, while the map used -18.93, 178.5. Both now read -18.90, 178.49.

The Fiji Times places the find "in the tikina of Ono" and names no village or farm, so the pin is the middle of Ono Island, taken from OpenStreetMap's outline of the island and written to two decimals. Wikidata's point for the island rounds to -18.90, 178.48. The separate raid in the tikina of Yale is not pinned. Éloise 02:43, 5 October 2026 (+07)

Correction: plant count

This news item counted 35,000 plants. It now counts 31,000, the figure in its headline. The Fiji Times reports that "31,000 marijuana plants have been found in the past week" in the tikina of Ono. It describes a second find, close to 4,000 plants on a farm in the tikina of Yale, as another raid. The 35,000 was the two figures added together. The report gives no combined figure and its Yale figure is approximate. This news item and its map pin are about the Ono find, so its count is the Ono figure alone. The Yale raid is still described in the summary.

The infobox did not show the agency or the plant count before this correction. It now shows both. Éloise 03:02, 5 October 2026 (+07)

Correction: summary

The summary has been reworded to keep to The Fiji Times report. Four phrases in it were not in the report:

  • "across multiple sites", of the Ono find. The report gives no number of sites in Ono and speaks of the owner of the farm in the singular. Its mention of a number of farms concerns the operations of the Kadavu team in general.
  • "on the main Kadavu island", of the tikina of Yale. The report does not say where in Kadavu Yale lies.
  • "the Ono farm's owner", now "the owner of the farm", following the report.
  • "in the trade", of those from whom police expected resistance. The report speaks only of those involved.

The summary now also gives the Ono find as a statement by the police. It describes the Yale plants as found where it had said they were seized, since the report speaks of their discovery. Éloise 03:02, 5 October 2026 (+07)
