Identifier

The accession identifier is NPG-IND-ODI-0020240002, built to the grammar in the project's naming reference: holder NPG (the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System), ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month and year of collection, sequence. The note gives the harvest as winter 2023–2024, which spans two years, so the collection date is left empty; the date segment is month 00 and the year the genebank received the seed, 2024, and the descriptive name carries no year. The sequence counts this holder's accessions with the same country, province and date. The genebank's own number is G 33885.

Sourcing

Everything on this page comes from the GRIN-Global entry, as it stood on 27 October 2026: the passport data, the source history and the donor's narrative. The narrative is the donor's own account of the seed, edited lightly by the curator. The entry's narrative names Angus as the collector, and the infobox enters him.

Other accessions

The donation holds two Odisha lots from the same harvest, #1 (G 33884) and #2 (G 33885), with the same note and the same point. The entries do not say how the two differ, so each has its own accession; the other is NPG-IND-ODI-0020240001. The Real Seed Company sells one Odisha lot of 2024, on the wiki as RSC-IND-ODI-0120240001; the sources do not say which genebank lot, if either, is the seed it sells, and it is linked as related.

Georeferencing

No point is given. The point the entry publishes, 17.49, 87.29, which the donor added in September 2026, lies in the Bay of Bengal, about 290 km from the nearest point of the Odisha coast; OpenStreetMap returns no address there. It cannot be where the seed was gathered. The finest place named is the state of Odisha, too large for one point.
