Page scope
Landrace Mafia is an Organisation, a prose entity page. It documents the seller, what it says about its seed lines and how buyers have described dealing with it. Lines held as seed are documented as Accessions, and the article lists them by query rather than by hand.
Sourcing
The article rests on the seller's own website and on posts on the growers' forums Overgrow and Rollitup. Everything taken from the seller's site is its own account and is attributed as such. Forum posts are attributed to their authors by username. Discuss attribution, independent sourcing and any claim that has migrated into the wiki's own voice here.

Discussion

Sources read

  • The seller's website (landracemafia.org), read on 21 October 2026: the home page, About, the Genetic Archive, 13 region pages, the sitemap and all 45 line pages. The Wayback Machine's first capture of the site is of 5 January 2024; the line pages were first captured in February 2026.
  • Rollitup: the thread Trident Seeds/Landrace Mafia (four pages, December 2020 to August 2022).
  • Overgrow: searches for "landrace mafia", "trident seeds" and "landracemafia", with ten posts read in full.
  • SeedFinder has no breeder entry under either name.
  • Not read: the Instagram account @landracemafia (login required), ICMag (access refused), and the seller's listings on the marketplace Strainly and with the reseller Multiverse Beans. No news report on the seller was found.

The two names

The website and its Instagram handle use Landrace Mafia; packs, boxes and forum posts use Trident Seeds. A screenshot file name quoted on Overgrow in December 2023 shows the Instagram account's display name as "TRIDENT SEEDS 🔱 (@landracemafia)". The article uses the website's name, with a redirect from Trident Seeds. No source names the people who run it.

Dates

  • The oldest dated mention found is a post of 22 January 2020 about "@landracemafia / Trident Seeds".
  • Overgrow's list Landrace seed links names "Landrace Mafia/ Trident Seeds", but the list is a wiki post opened on 18 August 2018 and edited until March 2023, so the mention cannot be dated to 2018.
  • A Rollitup member wrote in January 2021 of a Wailing Valley pack "from 2019", and of a 2017 hashtag for the line.

Coordinates on the line pages

Each line page gives decimal coordinates. They are the seller's statements and have not been checked here. Two need care: the Champawat page, headed "Lohaghat 1754 metres", gives coordinates in the Malana valley, Himachal Pradesh; and the Manaslu page gives the coordinates of the mountain, not of the villages it names.

  • Indian Landrace Exchange and Full Power Selections: a Rollitup member's Balochistan order of 2021 "through Landracemafia/Trident seed" was "sent through FullPowerselections", and the same member received "Swabi selections" from Trident. Both are lines of the Indian Landrace Exchange's genetic library. An Overgrow member wrote in 2020: "I'm assuming irazznig is selling the same ones as landracemafia."
  • The Wailing Valley line is also sold by the Indian Landrace Exchange, whose genetic-library entry is dated June 2021. Landrace Mafia was selling a Wailing Valley line by December 2020.
  • Baaba Qo: the Baharak report of February 2021 is one member's account of a private message.

Material left out

  • The site's descriptions of effects, flavours and yields, and its general essays on cannabis in Malana, Parvati, Uttarakhand, Nepal, north-east India, Afghanistan and Thailand.
  • The site's contact addresses.
  • The name of the Nirang farmer the Kaliram Hashplant is named after, beyond the line's own name.
  • The site's six handmade vases and bowls.
