Evidentiary scope
The handwritten label reads Collection A. Dewulf, Bas Uele, the date 9-1-35 and the number 554. It names the plant chanvre (hemp) and gives the local name bangi, attributed to the Avande. It gives no locality closer than the province, no habitat, no elevation and no statement of use, so nothing shows whether the plant was cultivated, grew wild or had escaped. The accession is classified Unknown. It shows no continuing population and no living germplasm holding, and no conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
Bas-Uele is a province of about 148,000 square kilometres in the north of the country, so the label locates the gathering only to a region. No coordinates are recorded and none is asserted here.
