Coco Genes is an Organisation, a prose entity page. It documents the holder itself. The seed lines it sold are documented as Accessions; the article lists them by query rather than by hand.

Almost everything known about this holder comes from its own archived website, its Strainly store and the companies that sell seed it collected. Discuss attribution, independent sourcing and any claim that has migrated into the wiki's own voice here.

Evidentiary scope

The article rests on four kinds of source, each attributed in the sentence that carries it:

cocogenes.com, a WordPress shop, read through the Wayback Machine. Product pages are archived from 16 January 2021 and the homepage from 27 February 2021. Thirty-eight product pages were read, with the About page, the WordPress site description and a site feed.
The CocoGenes store on Strainly, live on 18 September 2026 and as archived on 17 January 2021.
Khalifa Genetics' product pages and blog, live and archived. The earliest capture of its Rasol Village page is from 13 December 2019.
Resellers: Mandala Seeds, ACE Seeds and a resale listing on Strainly, with one ICMag post by the member dubi about the Indian lines ACE Seeds had begun to sell. ICMag refuses scripted access, so the thread was read in a browser on 18 September 2026 and saved as text.

No independent coverage of the holder was found: no news report, no Wikipedia article and no peer-reviewed paper names it. The wiki's citation rule bars breeder catalogues and forums as evidence for ethnobotanical or historical claims. Here they are cited as evidence of what the holder and its sellers say. The article does not state in its own voice where or when any seed was collected.

Editorial treatment

Title. Coco Genes: the name Khalifa Genetics uses on its Rasol Village page, the name the Strainly store signs with and the homepage title from October 2023. The site itself used Collector's Collective as its WordPress name, as the label of its header image and in its copyright line, which reads "© Collector's Collective 2021" and so on to 2024. Either title is defensible and the choice is an open call. Whichever is chosen, Collector's Collective or Coco Genes and CocoGenes become redirects to it.
"Connoisseur's Collective". The page was first requested under this name. It appears in none of the 1,134 documents saved for this research. Overgrow's search for "connoisseurs collective" and "connoisseur's collective" returns no post that uses the phrase. The nearest name found belongs to another business: an Overgrow member writes of "vending seeds already as Connoisseur Genetics". Nothing read ties that business to Coco Genes. No redirect is proposed.
Pronouns. The article uses none. Forum members refer to the person behind the business as "he". The site writes as "we" and, on a few product pages, as "I".
Base. The infobox gives the two offices in the site's "Find Us" panel. Forum posts about the city of the person behind the business, their family or their other work are not reproduced in the article or here.
Website. The infobox links the capture of 27 February 2021, not the live domain. The live domain answered with HTTP 403 and "Access denied." when checked on 18 September 2026. A forum member warned of redirects in May 2024; see Source discrepancies. The contact email address and the Instagram and YouTube names given by the site and the Strainly store are not reproduced.
Collectors. The article names plantlover77 and Rob Stone, the two collectors the pages credit for more than one line. Others are credited on a single page each: a friend called AAdhi (Assam), the Tatva or Tattva group (Choj), a "travelling Lama" (Malana), @safeeakhfarms (the Kalga reproduction run) and the LandraceWarden label (Balochistan).
Places. The article places Grahan, Kalga, Pulga, Rasol, Tosh and Choj in the Parvati Valley in its own voice. The Pulga, Kalga, Tosh and Choj pages say so. The Grahan and Rasol pages do not; the wiki's own Grahan and Parvati Valley pages do. Mahoot and Nadar are placed only as their pages place them. The article does not say "Pakistan" because neither LandraceWarden page names a country.
Links. Whether Khalifa's Rasol Village seed is the collected seed

Khalifa Genetics: "Our friend at Coco Genes collected the seeds directly at source. These are from the 2018 harvest." The same sentences are in the capture of 13 December 2019.
Mandala Seeds: "Rasol Village regular seeds are 1st-generation seeds collected directly by Coco Genes at source."
ACE Seeds: "The Khalifa team then performed a controlled open pollination (indoors) in order to increase the sexual stability." The listing labels the seed "(P2)".

Collection dates and the site's seasons

Grahan Village: "seeds are collected during winter 2019 expedition". The page is filed under "2020 Season".
Kerala 2020: "New Drop, Updated: June 15th, 2020." and "We just updated the stock, based on the new 2020 drop of Kerala."
Kalga | Parvati Valley is filed under "2020 Season". Sister Villages : Kalga 2021, filed under "2021 season", carries the same description of the village and says: "Images are from a reproduction run from the 2020 seeds done by @safeeakhfarms in California climates".
Rasol Village: Khalifa Genetics gives "the 2018 harvest". The Coco Genes page for Rasol Village gives no year.

Coordinates on the product pages

Checked against OpenStreetMap on 18 September 2026:

Kalga | Parvati Valley and Sister Villages : Kalga 2021: "31.2926° N, 77.9963° E". The point lies at Chirgaon in Shimla district, about 94 km from Kalga as OpenStreetMap places it.
Grahan Village: "31.3830° N, 77.0094° E", on a page that also says "District : Kullu". The point lies at Nihri in Mandi district. The wiki's Grahan page gives 31.9759, 77.3519, about 73 km away.
Pulga Village and Arakku Valley: the coordinates fall at the places named.
Assam: "26.2006° N, 92.9376° E", one point given for the whole state.

Product names that changed

"Assam | Ancient Ganja" (16 January 2021) became "Assam | Research seeds" (27 June 2022), with the same SKU and text.
"Lama Malana" is sold under the SKU "Lama-Rathri", at the address lama-rathri.
"Kodaikanal Pallangi" carries the SKU "Kedaikanal01".
"Tatva’s CHOJJ Village Collection" (23 May 2022) became "Tattva’s CHOJJ Village Collection" (29 May 2023).

Reviews on the Strainly store

The same three reviews, word for word, appear in the capture of 17 January 2021 and on the live page of 18 September 2026 under different reviewer names: "Ted" and "teddyboy" (Meghalaya Khasi Hills), "Charles" and "donkey99" (Tamilnadu Palani), "Clayton" and "Clay Pot" (Uttarkashi).

Whether the site was running

Upstate, Overgrow, 24 January 2021: "when Coco genes is up and running again you should look at his Grahan Village". The Wayback Machine holds working product pages from 16 January 2021 and a working homepage from 27 February 2021.
Donnie, Overgrow, 19 October 2021, linking a product page: "here is where the seeds come from, you will get all the info here".
acespicoli, ICMag, 23 May 2024: "There is a phishing danger where web traffic is being redirected by hackers currently." The Wayback Machine holds working homepage captures from May to December 2024.
acespicoli, ICMag, 16 October 2024: "Site is not updated or Current AFAIK".
Every capture of the homepage from 10 February 2025 to 15 October 2025 is an HTTP 403 page reading "Access denied." The live domain gave the same answer on 18 September 2026.
Soiltech, Overgrow, 8 September 2026: "he had a website up once".

Accessions

No accession yet names Coco Genes as its seed storage location. The article's query uses the value Coco Genes; the proposed holder code is COC.

The archive holds 38 product pages. Seven are filed under "2021 season" (Lapash, Tosh, Mahoot, Nadar, Pilkholi, Choj and the Kalga reproduction) and five under "2020 Season" (Grahan, Kalga, Pulga, Arakku Valley and Assam). The rest carry no season. Four lines have a year in words: Grahan ("winter 2019 expedition"), Kerala ("Updated: June 15th, 2020"), the Kumbh Mela collection ("Kumbh Mela 2019") and Rasol Village, dated only by Khalifa Genetics ("the 2018 harvest").

Points for the accession work:

Under the lineage split, the Kalga 2020 collection and the California reproduction run are separate accessions.
ACE Seeds and dubi describe Khalifa's Rasol Village as P2 seed from an indoor open pollination; Mandala Seeds calls it first-generation collected seed. Whether Khalifa's seed is the collection or a reproduction of it is an open call. So is the holder it is filed under.
A season category is not a collection date. Where no collection year is given, the first attested year applies.
Coordinates should not be taken from the product pages: two of the five pairs point to other districts.
Seed from Rasol and Grahan sold by other holders belongs to separate accessions. The Real Seed Company sells Rasoli ("Sourcing: The Real Seed Company, Rasol, Indian Himalaya, 2021 Harvest"). Zomia Collective sells Rasol ("Sourcing: Eloise (2022)") and Grahan Valley ("Sourcing: Eloise (2022, 2023, 2024)"). No source read links any of them to Coco Genes.

Not in the article

Growers' reports, including an outdoor Rasol Village grow in Oregon (ICMag, January 2024).
The product pages' accounts of effect, aroma, flowering time and medicinal use, their stories about the villages and their claims that lines were "previously unexplored by modern growers and breeders".
A blog post on jointcommerce.com that describes Rasol Village as bred over three years from regional genetics. It names no source for this.
The ICMag thread "coco" (2023 to 2024), in which a member reposts the site's product texts "just to catalog some strains available a few years ago". It copies the site and is not a second witness to it.
Forum statements about where the person behind the business lives or works.
The site's other goods: accessories, health and wellness products and Indian handicrafts.
