Sources
- Carlini (2006), Jornal Brasileiro de Psiquiatria 55(4), SciELO full text, including its quotation of Chernoviz's Formulário e guia médico (13th ed., 1888) and its figure 2, an advertisement of 1905 showing the packet.
Is it cannabis?
The packet reads "au Cannabis indica" and the advertisement "Cannabis Indica". The Cigarettes d'Espic, another French asthma cigarette, contain no cannabis and are a different product.
Title
- The name printed on Grimault's packet. Cigarros Índios and cigarrilhas Grimault are the names in the Brazilian sources Carlini quotes. "Grimault's Indian cigarettes" is not used by any of these sources.
Not stated
- The dose of cannabis in each cigarette and the date of first sale.
