Stewart s.n., Rawalpindi is an accession record for an unnumbered gathering of Cannabis sativa collected by R. R. Stewart at Rawalpindi in February 1913. Rawalpindi is now in Rawalpindi District, Punjab, Pakistan.[1] The New York Botanical Garden holds the herbarium sheet as catalogue 1414430.[2] GBIF publishes it as occurrence 1929221630.[3]
Collection and locality
Stewart's Plants of Northwest Himalaya label records Rawalpindi, Punjab, an altitude of 1,700 feet and the month February 1913.[4] The stated altitude converts to approximately 518 m and is stored in the infobox.
Field observations
The label describes the plant as very common along roadsides, in barnyards and in waste places.[4]
Specimen and identification
The sheet mounts two fruiting branches and carries the name Cannabis sativa L.[4] In August 1975, Ernest Small determined it as Cannabis sativa subsp. indica var. indica. GBIF publishes the occurrence under the broader name Cannabis sativa subsp. indica (Lam.) E.Small & Cronquist.[4][3]
