Hispar Valley General Population 2023 is a landrace cannabis accession from the Hispar Valley, Pakistan, listed as Hispar Valley in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC classifies it as a Karakoram landrace.[1]

Geography

RSC places the collection in the Hispar Valley of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of the Karakoram in northern Pakistan, at a latitude of about 36° N.[1]

Collection Details

The listing gives the sourcing as Landrace Genetics, Hispar Valley, Karakoram Range, 2023 harvest.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[2] gives the same sourcing.[3] Neither listing names a village or farmer.[1][3]

Cultivation Details

RSC gives the purposes as charas (sieved resin), culinary seed and bhang (coarse flower and leaf). It gives the harvest as late September through October and lists outdoor, greenhouse or indoor growing.[1]

Botanical Characteristics

RSC gives a height of 1 to 4 metres; Kwik Seeds gives up to 2 metres.[1][3] Both listings classify the line as Cannabis sativa subsp. indica var. afghanica.[1][3] RSC advises growers to expect plants similar to those of its Hopar Valley accession (Hopar Valley General Population 2022).[1]
