Joint patrol finds cannabis at two sites in Pegunungan Bintang

A joint patrol of 29 personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, Pegunungan Bintang Sub-regional Police and the 751/VJS Infantry Battalion located cannabis at two sites in Pegunungan Bintang regency, Highland Papua, on 11 April 2026. The two-day patrol found 81 plants at Yunabol village in Oksibil district and 145 plants at Siminbuk village in Serambakon district, totalling 226 plants. Two men aged 57 and 27 were detained as witnesses. Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo said both returned negative urine tests and have not been named as suspects.
