Jumla General Population 2021 is a seed accession of a Himalayan multipurpose cannabis landrace from Jumla District, Nepal, held by the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) as G 33717. Angus donated the seed, and the system received it on 22 August 2023.[1] The donor's note says the donor collected it in the winter of 2021 from a charas farmer in a valley outside the town of Chandannath, or Jumla.[1]

Collection Details

The note says multipurpose landraces are a traditional crop in this part of Nepal, and that this farmer grew large fields of it for sale. The note gives its purposes as seed for food, fibre for cord or cloth, bhang made from the leaf and seeded flower heads, and charas rubbed by hand.[1]
