Highland Lao #2 General Population 2021 is a seed accession of a cannabis landrace from Bolikhamsai Province, Laos, held by the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) as G 33708. Angus donated the seed, and the system received it on 22 August 2023.[1] The donor's note says the donor collected it around the winter of 2021 in Viengthong District, Bolikhamsai.[1]
Collection Details
The note describes a ganja landrace grown by farmers in Bolikhamsai, in central Laos, a region it says produces ganja for sale in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, at wholesale prices that vary with quality and strength. The best crop, according to the note, is sown around August and harvested around February, so that the flower heads ripen in the dry season. Farmers prefer fields with water from streams or pools, so that the crop can be watered outside the rains, and rich soil that drains well, ridges for drainage and the right spacing between plants. The note says the strength of the plants ranges from moderate to high.[1]
