Hwai Yuan General Population 1911 is a historical seed accession of Cannabis sativa that the United States Department of Agriculture received from Hwai Yuan (today's Huaiyuan), in Anhui, China, on 6 January 1911 and numbered plant introduction (PI) 29340.[1] No seed of the lot survives. The National Plant Germplasm System, whose database carries the department's introductions, says the accession "no longer exists and can not be requested".[1]

The lot

The department's printed inventory lists the lot as hemp from Hwai Yuan, procured by Dr. Samuel Cochran and received on 6 January 1911. Its only note is the name, "Ho ma".[2]
