Mazar 'Mixed plants' General Population 2018 is a seed accession of a cannabis landrace from near Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, held by the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) as G 33739. Angus donated the seed, and the system received it on 22 August 2023.[1] The donor's note says Lucas Strazzeri collected it on 1 November 2018.[1]
Collection Details
According to the note, the seed came from planted fields on the outskirts of Mazar-i-Sharif, between that city and Balkh. The note names the lot "mixed plants from Mazar" and says the plants averaged about 2 m tall and were heavily branched, and that about half of them carried ripe seed. It says no modern hybrids were grown in the area, and the donor describes the lot as a charas landrace.[1]
