Henry 2431 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa from the Patung district (now Badong County), in Hubei, China, sent by A. Henry from Ichang in February 1887. The sheet came to Paris from Kew. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds the sheet as P06781391.[1]
Collection and locality
The printed label reads Patung District, China. From Dr. A. Henry, Ichang, Febr., 1887., with the number and the name written by hand: 2431. Cannabis sativa L. A museum label records that the sheet was given by the director of the Royal Gardens at Kew, with the number 487, and received on 25 October 1887.[2]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries a long stem, bent back on itself to fit the sheet, with large palmate leaves and a leafy top.[2] The label and the catalogue name the plant Cannabis sativa L.[2][1]
