Hao 825 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Shangwuchuang, near Sining (Xining), in Qinghai (then labelled Kokonor), China, at 2,900 m on 3 August 1930 by K. S. Hao. The Northwestern Institute of Botany in Yangling holds the sheet as WUK0001281[1].
Collection and locality
The field label is a typed Flora of China form of the Laboratory of Botany of the National Academy of Peiping. It gives the number Hao 825, the date 3/8/1930, the locality Shangwuchuang, Sining, Kokonor, the altitude 2900 m., the height 2 ft. and the collector K.S.Hao, and a tag tied to the plants repeats the number 825 in pencil. The typed herbarium label of the Herbarium Academiae Nationalis Pekinensis repeats the place and the date and reads Leg. K.S.Hao (827) Det. K.S.Hao, the number of the collector's other gathering from that place and day, Hao 827 (1930).[2] The catalogue gives the collector, the number 825 and the year.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries two female stems with their roots, the seeds held in their bracts; the Yangling sheet of Hao 827 carries male flowering stems.
