Boulanger 1262 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Mae Hat in the Mae Sa watershed, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand, on 21 July 1977 by J.-P. Boulanger. Meise Botanic Garden holds the sheet as catalogue BR0000023200074.[1] GBIF publishes it as preserved specimen occurrence 2243250820.[2]
Collection and locality
The handwritten French label gives the locality as Mae Sa Watershed, Mae-Hat, with the coordinates Long. 98°53′; lat 18°53′ and the country Thaïlande. It gives the date as 21-7-1977 and the altitude as 600 m. It leaves the habitat blank.[3]
Cultivation observation
The label's observations read Plante cultivée. Les feuilles seulement ont été collectées. Les fleurs sont petites et blanches. (a cultivated plant, of which only the leaves were collected, with small white flowers).[3]
Specimen and identification
The label places the plant in the family Moraceae. Its name line gives a local name that begins kanscha, whose last letter is not clearly legible, then Chanvre and Cannabis sativa (var. indica), with a question mark written beneath sativa.[3] A later slip names the family Cannabidac.[3] The catalogue records the plant as Cannabis sativa L.[1]
A slip on the sheet reads Population dynamics in Cannabaceae, Leaf tissue removed for DNA, Christopher J. Grassa (ECON) - 2018/07/05, Harvard University Herbaria.[3] The sheet is stamped ACC. 1978.[3] Boulanger 1520 is a later gathering by the same collector in the same watershed.
