The Bagrakote population is the cannabis of Bagrakote, a foothill settlement in the Bagrakote appellation, in Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal, India, within The Dooars growing region. It lies at 150 to 200 m on the edge of a large tea-estate complex, where the Western Dooars plains give way to the first ridges of the hills.[1] The Zomia Collective's field report classes the planted cannabis as a domesticate landrace population grown for ganja and describes a feral population near the market.[1]
Accessions
Three accessions were collected at Bagrakote under the expedition code WEB01 on 17 June 2025: a landrace selection and two feral selections.

Field observations
In June 2025 the collectors found a cannabis plant over 2 m tall growing along the outer wall of a house. The grower said it had been grown on purpose and that several feral plants nearby had recently been pulled out to keep them from pollinating it. The grower shared a small amount of seed from the previous year's plants. Behind roadside eateries near the market the collectors found a self-seeding feral stand of about 500 plants or more.[1]
