Anon. 7543 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at a place in China whose name on the label has not been read, on 4 July 1924, with no collector named. The Tianjin Natural History Museum holds the sheet as TIE 00004156[1].
Collection and locality
The sheet carries a printed French form headed Herbier, with lines for the family, the scientific and common names, the station, the locality, the date and the plant's properties and uses, completed by hand: the number 7543, the name Cannabis sativa L., a place name in cursive Chinese on the station line, ending 南部 (southern part), and the date 4.VII.24 (4 July 1924). After the name, a pencilled Recogn. is followed by a name beginning J. Koz, cut off by the edge of the image.[2] The catalogue gives the year 1924 and Inner Mongolia, with no collector.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries a single slender young plant with its root, a leafy stem and a small male flowering tip.
