2004 AFP Malawi Mini IBL is a seed accession of Malawi Mini, a line that Afropips called "The shorter statured compact version of the first grade Malawi Gold". Its description names the genetics "Malawi Gold", the business's own line (Malawi Gold 2004).[1]

History

Afropips says that it developed the line for growing indoors where height is limited, and that it also performs well outdoors in the Southern Hemisphere. It calls the line pure-bred and a traditional landrace.[1] Its description of the hybrid Sweet Malawi, a cross with Sweet Tooth #3, calls the parent "the short statured Afropips Malawi Mini (IBL)".[2]

Cultivation Details

The description lists a flowering period of 14 to 16 weeks and a harvest in November. It says that a plant put straight into a 12/12 flowering cycle indoors reaches about a metre.[1]

Source accession

The line from which the business made this selection is Malawi Gold 2004, which Afropips sold from 2004 and headed "Original NKHOTAKOTA". Its place and its map point are on that page.[3]
