Makrapara General Population 2025 is a Domesticate landrace cannabis accession collected by Isabella of the Zomia Collective in West Bengal, India.

Geography

Makrapara is located in Alipurduar District, West Bengal, India, within the Chamurchi-Laxmi Duar landrace cannabis growing area of The Dooars growing region.

Administratively, the area belongs to Madarihat-Birpara CD block in the sub-district of Alipurduar which itself belongs to the Alipurduar district of West Bengal state.

Collection Details

This accession was documented by Isabella & Éloïse in June 2025. A total of 130 seeds were given to Isabella by a local cannabis grower. The seeds come from an autochthonous, cultivated landrace cannabis population of 100+ plants grown near Makrapara.

Cultivation Details

Cannabis is widely cultivated in the Chamurchi-Laxmi Duar area. The grower who provided this accession operates within this broader context of widespread regional cultivation. Specific cultivation practices were not documented at time of collection.

Plants are estimated to flower within 24-28 weeks.
