Makrapara General Population 2025 is a Domesticate landrace cannabis accession collected by Isabella of the Zomia Collective in West Bengal, India.
Geography
Makrapara is located in Alipurduar District, West Bengal, India, within the Chamurchi-Laxmi Duar landrace cannabis growing area of The Dooars growing region.
Administratively, the area belongs to Madarihat-Birpara CD block in the sub-district of Alipurduar which itself belongs to the Alipurduar district of West Bengal state.
Collection Details
This accession was documented by Isabella & Éloïse in June 2025. A total of 130 seeds were picked out of flower purchased by Isabella from a local cannabis grower. The seeds come from an autochthonous, cultivated landrace cannabis population of 100+ plants grown near Makrapara.
Cultivation Details
Cannabis is widely cultivated in the Chamurchi-Laxmi Duar area. The grower who provided this accession operates within this broader context of widespread regional cultivation. Specific cultivation practices were not documented at time of collection.
