Evidentiary scope

The label places a cannabis plant on a south-facing slope by the Irtysh near Ust-Kamenogorsk in July 1932. It gives no use and no note on cultivation. A single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population. The accession is classified Other and no conservation priority is assigned.

Read twice, independently, from the holder's image (3769 × 5472 pixels).

The reused label. The printed text of an older label shows through from its back (Императорскаго Московскаго Общества Испытателей Природы; Szowitz'a. Флора Арменіи). It belongs to an earlier use of the paper and is not this specimen's data.
The stamped number near the barcode was read in part (11980 or similar) and is not used. A pencilled 1973 in the corner is not used.

Georeferencing

The point 49.938504, 82.662969 is the one the herbarium's database publishes for this sheet. It lies in Oskemen, 2.8 km south-east of the city's point in OpenStreetMap (relation 10062283) and 0.4 km from the Irtysh (way 621010148). SRTM gives 365 m there, about 75 m above the city centre, which suits a slope; the label gives no altitude. The database states no uncertainty; the figure here covers the town's edge and the river slopes near it, which is as far as near the town, by the Irtysh reaches. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: about 5 km.

Place. Ust-Kamenogorsk is Oskemen; the locality takes today's name, and the province field East Kazakhstan Region.
