Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The labels give a name, a number, the station and an altitude range, and the year. They give no habitat, no use and no note on cultivation. The accession is classified Other. A single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned.
Label reading
Read twice, independently, from the Naturalis images of L.1592675 (1091 × 1920 pixels) and U.1198646 (1133 × 1920 pixels) and the Academy of Natural Sciences image of PH00807520 (4912 × 7360 pixels; licensed CC BY-NC 4.0, read and not uploaded); the page states only what the two readings agree.
- All three labels: printed Flora Africae oriental. / handwritten Cannabis sativa L. / Nr. 720. / printed Nyassa Hochland — Station Kyimbila / Fundort: (blank) / Seehöhe 550–1600 Meter / printed 19 with the year's last digits written over by hand / leg. A. Stolz.
- The year: one reading gives 1911; the other sees the printed third digit struck through and a hand 1, and cannot choose between 1911, 1921 and 1941. Every holder catalogues 1911, and the Utrecht stamp of 21 February 1923 rules out 1941; the page gives 1911 as the holders' date.
- L.1592675 also has a Herb. Lugd. Bat. slip whose number is not agreed and is not used. U.1198646: stamp Botanisch Museum, 21 FEB 1923, Utrecht (the stamp's number is not agreed).
The Missouri sheet's published image is a 480 × 640 thumbnail, too small to read, and the two Paris sheets' images could not be retrieved.
Georeferencing
The point -9.28, 33.65 is Kyimbila Moravian Church, OpenStreetMap node 6481623570, in Rungwe District, Mbeya Region, taken as the place the label's Station Kyimbila names. The label leaves the place of gathering blank and gives an altitude of 550 to 1,600 metres, so the plant may have been gathered anywhere in the country the station served: the church stands at about 1,410 metres (SRTM), and on a line from it towards Kyela the land falls to 600 metres about 22 km away. Leiden publishes the point -9.28333, 33.61667 for its sheet, 3.7 km west of the church, and the Philadelphia herbarium a GeoLocate point 0.2 km from it with an uncertainty of about 13.5 km; both are within the area described. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 25 km.
Editorial treatment
Six sheets, one accession. The Leiden, Utrecht and Philadelphia sheets carry the same printed label with the same number, altitude and year, and the Missouri and Paris catalogues give the same collector, number, station and year. They are treated as one gathering. The infobox takes the Leiden sheet's values and lists every catalogue number.
Country. The Paris catalogue files its two sheets under Malawi. Kyimbila lies in Rungwe District, Tanzania, and the other four holders give Tanzania. The page follows the place.
Station. The infobox gives the label's Station Kyimbila as the locality, because the label names no other place.
Collector. The labels give A. Stolz; the Leiden and Missouri catalogues give A.F. Stolz. The collector field takes the label's form.
Source discrepancies
- The Paris catalogue gives the country as Malawi (code MW); the other four holders give Tanzania.
- The label's year is written over by hand; every catalogue reads 1911.

The two Paris sheets (P06780063, P06829892) and the Missouri sheet (Tropicos specimen 104521724) have not been read: their images are behind the museum's browser check and Tropicos's sign-in. Their labels may differ in detail from the three read here.
