Evidentiary scope
Harvard's index gives a route, a range of dates and a number. It records no collector, habitat, use or note on cultivation. McPartland and Small's list adds the name Schlagintweit and a single day, and files the sheet under var. himalayensis; that is a determination from the plant, not a statement of how it grew. The accession is classified Unknown. It does not establish a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
No point is given. The index gives a route under a province heading, Province: Garhval. Salung up the Bhagiratti Valley to Sukhi: a stretch of the Bhagirathi valley between two places, not a collection point. Neither Salung nor Sukhi is mapped in OpenStreetMap under those names, so the route cannot be drawn between two points, and no district is asserted. McPartland and Small's Garhwal, Sukhi names the route's end. The province field takes the state in which Garhwal lies today.
Editorial treatment
Title. The title takes the number Harvard's index gives, 8457, and the year.
Date. Harvard's index gives 5 October 1855 to 8 October 1856; McPartland and Small give 5 October 1855. The field stores the day both give.
Collector. Harvard's index enters no collector ([no data available]). The collector field gives the surname McPartland and Small give, as on the other Schlagintweit pages; which of the brothers gathered the plant is not stated.
Image. Harvard's index publishes no image of the sheet. The page's values are the index's and McPartland and Small's.
Source discrepancies
- Harvard's index gives a range of dates a year long, 5 October 1855 to 8 October 1856; McPartland and Small give 5 October 1855, the range's first day.
