Border
The border is the part of the municipality of San Juan del Cesar (OpenStreetMap relation 1314629; DIVIPOLA code 44650) that lies inside the border of the Baja Guajira growing area, the valley floor below 200 metres. It covers about 150 km², 11% of the municipality's 1,310 km²; the rest lies in the range growing areas. The municipal border is today's. The point in the infobox is a point inside the border, not a field.
Sources
- Betancourt and García (1994), p. 54, name San Juan del Cesar among the growing zones "en la baja Guajira". They do not say whether the growing in San Juan del Cesar was on the valley floor or the slopes.
- The status is Active: the Ministry of Defence's eradication dataset lists, for San Juan del Cesar with crop type marihuana, 3 rows, 12 March 2012 to 28 February 2019, 1.52 hectares (downloaded 20 October 2026). The dataset gives the municipality only, not whether the crop stood on the valley floor or on the slopes.
