Discussion

Why Samoeng is a growing area

  • Tipparat and colleagues (2014, read in full) describe the 2009 trial field of 750 plants at the Pang Da Royal Agricultural Station. Matichon (2018) and the Bangkok Post (2018, photograph caption) report hemp plots at Pang Da.
  • Aksonsit and colleagues (2025) list hemp accessions from Samoeng Tai and Samoeng North; the paper does not say who grew the source plants.
  • The status is Active: the 2009 trial and the 2018 plots record growing since 2000.

Extent and border

  • The border is the whole of Samoeng District (OpenStreetMap), about 1,010 km². The station is the one site the sources name; its position within the district was not located on a map.
