Evidentiary scope

The article rests on the RSC listings for Mango Thai and Mango Thai #2 and on the Kwik Seeds listing of the same line. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose). RSC dates its collection to 2023 and gives the source as tribal farmers contracted by a Thai broker; it names no village, district or province, and gives only a latitude of about 21° N. Kwik Seeds describes a different collection, of 2021, at about 18° N, and its account of the village is reported as its own. Georeferencing

The listing names only Laos and gives a latitude of about 21° N. So that the accession appears on the map, the coordinate is the midpoint of the country's extent along 21.00° N in OpenStreetMap (relation 49903, full polygon; 100.55° E to 103.06° E), rounded to two decimal places: 21.00, 101.81. OpenStreetMap places that point in Na Mo District, Oudomxay Province. It is an inference from the listing, not a collection site, so the province field stays blank and the region code is UNK. The same point is used for Mango Thai #2 and Lao Sa, whose listings give the same country and latitude. Editorial treatment

• Accession ID. RSC-LAO-UNK-0120230001: UNK because the listing names no province, and 0001 because two accessions of 2023 share the region code; Mango Thai #2 takes 0002, in the order the two lines appear in RSC's catalogue.
• Collector. Angus, as on the other accessions RSC sourced itself.
• Height. 2 to 4 m, which RSC and Kwik Seeds both give.
• Vocabulary mapping. "Sativa-type architecture" is entered as growth pattern Christmas tree, the provisional RSC convention discussed on Talk:RSC-LAO-CHA-0120240001.
• Conservation priority. Medium: the listings describe contract cultivation for the Thai market in two linked villages, which is a moderate population with more than one source, and RSC has made accessions of the line in several years. The ratings follow the accession definitions in authored/planning/DESIGN.md: Critical rare, from a single farmer or micro-population; High limited population, few sources; Medium moderate population, multiple sources known; Low common, broadly available within its range.
• Related accession. RSC-LAO-UNK-0120230002, the other 2023 Mango Thai collection.
• Not entered. Planting and harvest dates, because the listing gives only the regional growing period; leaf colour, because the colours are given for the two variants rather than for leaves.
• Links. Vientiane Province, the Mekong, Isan and the Lao are linked. Haze, Skunk, Northern Lights, Meuang Lao and the Thai broker are left unlinked.

Source discrepancies

• Sourcing. RSC: "Laos, Southeast Asia (2023)". Kwik Seeds: "Laos, Southeast Asia, 2021", RSC's line from December 2021 to April 2025.
• Latitude. RSC: 21° N since May 2022. Kwik Seeds: 18° N, RSC's figure until December 2021.
• Village account. Kwik Seeds carries the paragraph on the accession made further north in Laos, which RSC carried in its versions of September and November 2019; the current RSC listing does not.
• Regional harvest. RSC: "Approx. 6 months from seed to harvest". Kwik Seeds: "late December to early January", RSC's line until January 2023.
• The 2019 accession. RSC's note calls it "the 2019 Vientiane one"; the archived versions give the sourcing of the Vientiane collection as 2020, and a version of December 2021 called it "the less impressive 2019 one".
• Only on RSC. The sentence on cultivation from Isan to north-western Laos, "Seeds go where people take them" and the paragraph on foundational varieties.

Archived versions

The Wayback Machine holds 24 versions of the RSC listing, from September 2019 to May 2026, and all were read. The listing has sold four collections under the same address:

• Sourcing. "Personally collected at source in Laos, Southeast Asia, 2019" in September and November 2019; "2020" from August 2020 to October 2021, with a note that the seeds came from a farmer in the main growing region of Vientiane Province; "2021" from December 2021 to April 2025; "(2023)" from September 2025.
• Latitude. 18° N until December 2021 and 21° N since May 2022.
• Classification. "C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica" from August 2020 to April 2025, for earlier collections. It is not used here.
• Village account. The paragraph on the accession made further north in Laos stood in the 2019 versions, which describe the original accession, and stands on Kwik Seeds now.
• Other wording. The sentences on cultivation from Isan to north-western Laos, on seeds going where people take them and on foundational varieties first appear in September 2024.

Photographs

The infobox image and the gallery are the five photographs on the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution. The current listing gives them no captions. The September and November 2019 versions (Wayback Machine) captioned three of them, while the listing sold the original accession, which RSC says came from the same source as the seed on sale now: the cured buds as indoors, the night-time plant as outdoors in New Zealand in a photograph courtesy of Bushman, and the bowl of buds as outdoor buds of the fruity variant, grown in Laos. Those captions are used with the year 2019. The photograph among trees and the field photograph have no caption from RSC; the first is shown on the listing for Mango Thai #2 as well, and is uploaded once for both pages.
