Evidentiary scope

The label places the plant at Pokrovka in the Issyk-Kul Oblast in August 1950, по улице. (along the street). It gives no use and no note on cultivation, and the name Cannabis ruderalis on the label is a determination from the specimen, not a record of where the plant grew. The plant grew by a village street, outside cultivation. The accession is classified Feral, by inference from the label; the label does not say whether the plants descended from a crop. A single gathering does not establish a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned. An earlier version of this note classified the sheet as Other because a single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population.

Georeferencing

The point 42.34, 78.00 is the village of Kyzyl-Suu, OpenStreetMap way 120374573, in Jeti-Ögüz District, Issyk-Kul Region. The English Wikipedia's page on the village says it was known as Pokrovka from 1875; the year it took its present name was not found. It is the only Pokrovka in the oblast the label names apart from a hamlet, Покровка Пристаны (way 336663653), 8 km west-north-west in the same district; the label's along the street fits the village better, and the uncertainty covers both. SRTM gives 1,755 m; the label gives no altitude. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 10 km.

Editorial treatment

Place. The title and the locality keep the label's Pokrovka; the lead gives today's name. The label's Issyk-Kul Oblast (1939 to 1959) is today's Issyk-Kul Region, the province field's value.

Collector. The collector field keeps the label's and the catalogue's Yu. Popova. No source read gives the collector's full name, which is not linked.
