Identifier
The accession identifier is NPG-PAK-KHY-0020220001, built to the grammar in the project's naming reference: holder NPG (the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System), ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month and year of collection, sequence. The source gives the year of collection but no month, so the month is 00. The sequence counts this holder's accessions with the same country, province and date. The genebank's own number is G 33696.
Sourcing
Everything on this page comes from the GRIN-Global entry, as it stood on 27 October 2026: the passport data, the source history and the donor's narrative. The narrative is the donor's own account of the seed, edited lightly by the curator. GRIN's collector field names Angus on every accession of this donation, including those whose narratives name someone else or nobody, so it is not used here. The narrative names no collector, so the infobox leaves the field empty. The entry says the accession was, or was attempted to be, included in the 2024 genome sequencing and phenotyping trial run by the USDA Agricultural Research Service with HudsonAlpha. It also carries the curator's notes and trial measurements from field trials in the United States. The article does not report them: they describe plants grown in those trials, not the population where the seed was gathered.
Other accessions of this line
The wiki's other Chitral accessions are seed lots of The Real Seed Company dated 2015, 2018 (held by the genebank as G 33695), 2019 and 2021. The genebank's lots are kept apart from them unless a source identifies one with the other; a shared district or year is not that evidence. The wiki has no Chitral lot of 2022.
Georeferencing
The point 36.2836, 72.5194 is the one the entry publishes for this lot; the donor added it in September 2026. OpenStreetMap places it at Sarguz, in Mastuj Tehsil, Upper Chitral District (node 4025080947), and the entry gives the same point for the Chitral (Passom) and Chitral (Brep) lots. The narrative names only Chitral District, so the point is finer than the text it goes with; it is used as the holder's own, at the precision published, and is not the place the seed was gathered. The wiki's Chitral page has its point 2.5 km away. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: not stated by the genebank.
