Identifier
The accession identifier is NPG-PAK-KHY-0020190001, built to the grammar in the project's naming reference: holder NPG (the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System), ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month and year of collection, sequence. The source gives the year of collection but no month, so the month is 00. The sequence counts this holder's accessions with the same country, province and date. The genebank's own number is G 33697.
Sourcing
Everything on this page comes from the GRIN-Global entry, as it stood on 27 October 2026: the passport data, the source history and the donor's narrative. The narrative is the donor's own account of the seed, edited lightly by the curator. GRIN's collector field names Angus on every accession of this donation, including those whose narratives name someone else or nobody, so it is not used here. The narrative names no collector, so the infobox leaves the field empty. The entry says the accession was, or was attempted to be, included in the 2024 genome sequencing and phenotyping trial run by the USDA Agricultural Research Service with HudsonAlpha. It also carries trial measurements from field trials in the United States. The article does not report them: they describe plants grown in those trials, not the population where the seed was gathered.
Other accessions of this line
The wiki's other Chitral accessions are seed lots of The Real Seed Company dated 2015, 2018 (held by the genebank as G 33695), 2019 and 2021. The genebank's lots are kept apart from them unless a source identifies one with the other; a shared district or year is not that evidence. The Real Seed Company's 2019 lot is the Yarkhun Valley harvest of that year, and this lot was gathered at Drosh in Lower Chitral, so the two are kept apart.
Collection date
The note gives 2019 as the year of collection and says the seed is "assumed to be from 2018 harvest". The identifier and the infobox use the collection year.
Georeferencing
The point 35.56, 71.80 is the town of Drosh, in Lower Chitral District (Wikidata Q5308573, a town). The OpenStreetMap search for the name returned nothing under its English spelling, so the Wikidata point is used. It places the gathering at the town, not at a field within it. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 3 km.
