Identifier
The accession identifier is NPG-LAO-BOL-0020210001, built to the grammar in the project's naming reference: holder NPG (the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System), ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month and year of collection, sequence. The source gives the year of collection but no month, so the month is 00. The sequence counts this holder's accessions with the same country, province and date. The genebank's own number is G 33708.
Sourcing
Everything on this page comes from the GRIN-Global entry, as it stood on 27 October 2026: the passport data, the source history and the donor's narrative. The narrative is the donor's own account of the seed, edited lightly by the curator. GRIN's collector field names Angus on every accession of this donation, including those whose narratives name someone else or nobody, so it is not used here. The narrative's "Collected by Angus Pretty" is the basis for the collector field. The entry says the accession was, or was attempted to be, included in the 2024 genome sequencing and phenotyping trial run by the USDA Agricultural Research Service with HudsonAlpha. It also carries the curator's notes and trial measurements from field trials in the United States. The article does not report them: they describe plants grown in those trials, not the population where the seed was gathered.
Other accessions
The wiki's other Highland Lao accessions are seed lots of The Real Seed Company, all filed under Bolikhamsai: Highland Lao (2019), #4 (2022), #5 (2023), #6 (2024) and #7 (2025). None is dated to the year of this lot, so they are kept apart.
Collection date
The note says "c. winter 2021". The identifier and the infobox use 2021 with no month.
Georeferencing
The point 18.38, 104.33 is the one the entry publishes for this lot; the donor added it in September 2026. OpenStreetMap places it inside Viengthong District, Bolikhamsai (relation 5831793). That is the district the narrative names. Given to two decimal places, the point places the lot in the district, not at a field; the entry gives the same point for Highland Lao #3. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: not stated by the genebank.
