Evidentiary scope

The accession rests on two sources: the department's printed inventory entry for plant introduction 18632 (Inventory No. 12 (1907), p. 96) and the entry for PI 18632 in GRIN-Global, the database of the National Plant Germplasm System, as it stood on 27 October 2026. The inventory names the firm the seed came through and the district the firm said it was produced in. GRIN-Global states that the lot "no longer exists and can not be requested", so the page gives the lot as gone. No conservation priority is assigned.

Identifier

The identifier NPG-CHN-LIA-0019060002 follows the wiki's seed-accession grammar: holder, ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month, year, sequence. The department's own number for the lot is PI 18632.

  • NPG stands for the National Plant Germplasm System of the United States Department of Agriculture, whose database, GRIN-Global, carries the department's plant introductions.
  • CHN is the ISO code for China.
  • LIA stands for Liaoning.
  • Month 00: the date the seed was gathered is not known.
  • Year 1906 is the year the department received the lot.
  • 0002 is the lot's place, in plant-introduction order, among the holder's lots from the same country, province, month and year.

Classification

The firm's note says the seed was produced in the Shinmintong district, a crop of the district it names, so the accession is classified Landrace. The note is the nursery's own statement, passed on by the inventory; no grower is named.

Collectors and donors

GRIN-Global lists the Yokohama Nursery Company as its source; the printed inventory says the seed was received through the company. No one is said to have gathered it, so the infobox gives no collector.

Location and georeferencing

The firm's note names the district of Shinmintong, today's Xinmin, a county-level city of Liaoning, and no place within it. The point 41.99, 122.82 is the point OpenStreetMap gives for Xinmin (relation 2769602), the district's seat, taken as an area point for the district. Basis: district point. Uncertainty: about 33 km, the radius of Xinmin's area (about 3,300 km²). GRIN-Global gives no province; Liaoning is the province the district lies in.

Dates

The date the seed was gathered is not known, so the collection date is empty. Both sources give 29 May 1906 as the date of receipt, the lot's received date. The identifier therefore carries month 00 and the year of receipt.
