Discussion

Sources

  • The area rests on police reports in the Trinidad Guardian: the La Lune Forest in September 2020, February 2024 and July 2026, and Marac, in the Moruga Forest Reserve, in a report of January 2026 that gives no date for the operation. Each report names the forest or the forest reserve; the page gives no closer location.
  • The US State Department's report of 1999 places cultivation in the forests of northern, eastern and southern Trinidad without naming districts. Ansley Hamid's study of the 1970s (The Ganja Complex, 2002) mentions Moruga once, as a place where farmland was bought, not as a growing place.
  • The plant counts on the page are those the police gave. The reports also put a street value on each find; the page leaves those values out.

Growing status

  • The status is Active: the reports run from 2020 to 2026. None of them gives a year when growing began in Moruga, so the infobox has no first year.

Map point

  • 10.0887, -61.2800 is the village of Moruga as OpenStreetMap places it. It marks the area, not a field.

Plants

  • None of the police reports names a variety; they give the plants only by number and stage of growth.
