Border and name
The border is the Madarihat-Birpara community development block (OpenStreetMap relation 10360505, "Madarihat"), less the Jaldapara and Khairbari-Deogaon forest appellations, about 300 km². No source read gives the limits of the Luckee duar or of pargana Lakshmipur. The block holds Totopara, where Bose placed the Totos in Luckeepoor and the 1911 gazetteer found them, and the Lakshmipur forests Hunter names (Dumchi, Dalgaon). Hunter puts the boundary of Lakshmipur and Madari on the Mujnai, so the block also takes in part of pargana Madari.
The spellings are Luckee (Eden 1865), Lukhee (Pemberton's own 1839 report), Lakshmipur (Hunter 1876), Lakhipur (the 1911 gazetteer) and Laxmi (the earlier page title, Chamurchi-Laxmi Duar). The two seed lots of 2025 are the Ballalguri and Makrapara lots. Until October 2026 they were filed under Chamurchi-Laxmi Duar, which was split into this page and Chamurchi Duar.
