Identifier

The accession identifier is LMF-IND-HIM-0120250001, built to the wiki's naming convention: holder, ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month, year, sequence.

Holder segment LMF stands for Landrace Mafia.
Year 2025 is the year of the earliest dated mention of the line under this name that was found: a post of 14 February 2025 on the growers' forum Overgrow. No source gives a collection year. It is a lower bound, not a collection date, and moves if an earlier mention is found.
Month 01 is the placeholder used when the year comes from a first dated mention rather than a stated collection date.
Province segment HIM. The seller's regional page for the line names Himachal Pradesh.
Sequence 0001. It is the first of 3 accessions of this seller for this country, province segment and year, ordered by the seller's line name.

Sourcing

The seller's page for the line (https://www.landracemafia.org/nirang-gutter-gas) was read on 21 October 2026 and saved. Every statement about the line's origin, plants, aroma and effects is the seller's own account of its stock and is attributed to it in the article. The Wayback Machine first captured the page on 9 February 2026. The page names no collector, farmer or year of collection. Forum posts that date the line are attributed to their authors by username.

Typing

Classification: Other. The seller's description of its stock as a landrace is its own claim and is attributed in the article; a seller's page does not establish the class of the source population.
Sourcing type: Unknown provenance. The page gives no chain of custody from a source population to the seed on sale.
Accession type is left empty: the page does not say whether the seed on sale is an original collection or a reproduction.
Traits. The flowering times, heights, aromas and effects in the infobox are the seller's own descriptions; heights are the seller's figures in feet converted to metres.
Place fields. Province Himachal Pradesh; district Kullu District; locality Nirang. A field left empty means the seller names nothing at that level. The growing region and growing area are the wiki's existing pages for the valley the seller names. The appellation is the wiki's page for the place the seller names.

Georeferencing

The point 32.0450, 77.2776 is the one the seller publishes for the line (32.0450° N, 77.2776° E). In OpenStreetMap it lies in Bhutoling, Malana, Bhuntar, Kullu. The seller names Nirang; the hamlet of Bhutoling (OpenStreetMap node 8623735409) is 2.1 km from the point. The seller gives an altitude of 2,890 metres; the SRTM elevation model (30 m grid, read through OpenTopoData) puts the seller's point at 3,212 metres, a difference of 322 metres. It is a point taken from the seller's own coordinates: it says the line comes from near Nirang, not from a particular field. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: about 3 km.

Conservation priority

Not rated. The page gives nothing about the size or status of a source population.
