Evidentiary scope

The label places a cannabis plant at a railway station in the Araks valley in July 1932. It gives no habitat, no use and no note on cultivation, and the variety name is the determiner's judgement from the specimen. A single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population. The accession is classified Other and no conservation priority is assigned.

The stamped number 7513 near the barcode is a registration number of the herbarium, not a field number. The Bartaz sheet of 23 July carries the same number.
A pencilled 1973 in the lower right corner, in the hand seen on nearly every sheet of this series in the herbarium, says nothing about its purpose and is not used.

Georeferencing

The point 39.03, 46.72 is Mincivan railway station, OpenStreetMap node 8500129400 (tagged as a disused station), at the town of Minjivan (node 234330550, 0.8 km to the west), in Zangilan District. The label names the station; the Aras runs about 9 km south of the town, and the label's valley of the Araks is the valley in the broad sense. SRTM gives 314 m at the station; the label gives no altitude. The herbarium's database publishes the point 39.047076, 46.748732 for this sheet, 3.0 km from the station and inside the same district; the station, which the label names, is used instead. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 4 km.

Editorial treatment

Two gatherings. This sheet and Karjagin s.n., Bartaz (1932) share a registration number and a printed form, but differ in day (18 and 23 July) and place, so each is its own accession.

Place. The label's Mindzhevan is Minjivan (Mincivan, Миндживан); its distr. Zangelan is today's Zangilan District, the province field's value.

Taxon. The infobox keeps the label's determination, with the label's v. written var.; the author abbreviations are the label's.

People. The collector field takes the catalogue's I. I. Karjagin; the determiner is the label's A. Grossheim. No source read for this page gives either's full name, and neither is linked.
