Page scope
International Narcotics Control Strategy Report covers the United States Department of State's annual report as a series: its legal basis, the bureau that writes it, and what it reports on cannabis, including the methods and limits of its estimates. What a single edition says about a single country belongs on that country's article, where the edition is cited.

  • The 2019 cultivation table. For cannabis in Mexico it gives 12,000 (2011), 11,500 (2012), 13,000 (2013), 11,000 (2014) and 11,500 (2016) hectares, with no figure for 2009, 2010, 2015 or 2017.
  • Edition and year. Each edition covers the previous calendar year: the 1991 executive summary reports on 1990, and the 2019 edition on 2018.

Open points

  • The first edition. The 1988 edition calls itself the second annual report under the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986, and an edition dated 1 February 1986 exists. The year of the first edition under the Foreign Assistance Act is not established.
  • When cannabis left the production tables. The 1991 summary reports marijuana production for Colombia, Mexico and Jamaica; the 2019 tables of production cover opium, heroin and cocaine, and the cultivation table cannabis in Mexico alone. When the change came is not established.
