Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The accession rests on one herbarium sheet of a plant grown in a greenhouse at Indiana University, Bloomington, from seed seized by the local police, whose label gives Colombia as its country of origin. It shows that seed recorded as Colombian was grown there in 1996; it does not show where in Colombia the seed was produced, when, or by whom, and the origin rests on the label alone. No surviving seed of the lot has been traced. Nothing on the sheet shows what kind of population the seed came from, so the accession is classified Unknown. No conservation priority is assigned.
Identifier
The identifier IUB-COL-UNK-0019960001 follows the form of the wiki's other Hillig accessions (IUB-THA-…): holder, ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month, year, sequence.
IUBstands for Indiana University, Bloomington, which grew the plants and whose herbarium holds the sheet.COLis the ISO code for Colombia, the recorded seed origin.UNK: no province is recorded.- Month
00: the date the seed was gathered is unknown. - Year 1996 is the year of the sheet, not a collection date. The sequence follows the parallel codes, Cl-1 first.
Lineage
Cl-1 is Hillig's parallel code for the lot. The page reproduces the code and does not interpret it. No label gives a generation, so the sourcing type is Unknown provenance. No parent accession is set.
Label reading
The label is quoted from the herbarium's photograph, read on 2 November 2026. The infobox gives the maximum height as 2.93 m, the label's figure converted to metres; the branching and aroma words are quoted in the article and the matching fields are left blank, as on the Thai Hillig pages.
Georeferencing
No point is given. The plant was grown outside Colombia, and the catalogue entry names Colombia as the seed's origin without naming any place within it. The country field carries that origin; the map is off.
Editorial treatment
Image. The herbarium's photograph is published under CC BY-NC 4.0, which the wiki's file licences do not cover; it is used under fair use, reduced, as on the Thai Hillig pages.
