Evidentiary scope
The label, and the catalogue in the same words, place a female plant at г. Пржевальск. Посадки и питомник лесхоза. Сорняк. (town of Przhevalsk; plantings and nursery of the forestry; weed), in July 1956. It gives no use. Сорняк (weed) is the label's word, and it does not say whether hemp was grown nearby. The printed heading is that of the Przhevalsk experimental station of VILAR, whose form the collector used; the handwritten line, not the form, says where the plant grew, and it places the plant in forestry plantings, not in a crop. The name Cannabis ruderalis on the label is the botanist's determination from the specimen, not a record of where the plant grew. The accession is classified Feral, by inference from the label and the catalogue; neither says whether the plant descended from a crop. A single gathering does not establish a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned. An earlier version of this note classified the sheet as Other because a single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population.

- Small's slip (typed). Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa / E. Small, Canada Agriculture, Aug. 1975.
- Packet. A small clear packet held by a paper clip at the top of the sheet, with one fruit in it and no writing.
- Readings that differ. The month was read Июня (June, with a doubt) and Июля (July); a third look on an enlarged crop finds no crossbar in the fourth letter, an л: July, the catalogue's month.
- The catalogue adds a note, пестичный (женский) цветок (pistillate, female, flower), which is not written on the sheet; the label's sign for a female plant says the same.
- A pencilled 1973 in the lower right corner, in the hand seen on nearly every sheet of this series in the herbarium, says nothing about its purpose and is not used.
Georeferencing
The point 42.49, 78.40 is the town of Karakol, the label's Przhevalsk, OpenStreetMap node 254467298, in the Issyk-Kul Region; the Russian Wikipedia gives the town's names, Przhevalsk from 1889 to 1921 and from 1939 to 1992. No forestry nursery is mapped in or around the town (OpenStreetMap, within 8 km); the office of the Karakol forestry (node 6510504785) is an office, not the nursery, and is not used. The town's mapped area is about 17 by 13 km. SRTM gives 1,750 m at the town point; the label gives no altitude. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 6 km.
Editorial treatment
Place. The label's Przhevalsk is today's Karakol, the name the town has carried since 1991; the locality and the title take Karakol.
Collector. The collector and determiner fields take the catalogue's I. Gubanov. No source read for this page gives his full name, and he is not linked. An I. A. Gubanov collected and determined Gubanov 843 (1958) on a form of the same station; the page does not say that it is the same man.
Taxon. The infobox takes Gubanov's Cannabis ruderalis Janisch. (the label spells the author Janischewsky); Small's 1975 determination is reported in the article.
Source discrepancies
- The catalogue gives E. Small and August 1975 as the determination, under the name Cannabis sativa L.; the slip itself gives Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa.
