Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The catalogue transcribes Hierba de 1 m. ejemplar macho. The label of HUA 54831, read on a photograph, adds flor verde amarillosa (yellowish green flower) and Cultivado (cultivated). That says the plant was grown at Piedras de Amolar in 1980, and nothing about by whom, from what seed or for what. A bare statement of cultivation at that date does not tie the plant to a local crop. The accession is classified Unknown. It does not establish a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
The point 11.16183, -72.49741 is the one the herbarium's catalogue publishes for all five sheets, with an uncertainty of 949 m, georeferenced in 2015 from the Codazzi 1:100,000 map. It falls inside Albania municipality in OpenStreetMap, which agrees with the catalogue's remark that it moved the sheets from Maicao to Albania. Piedras de Amolar is not mapped in OpenStreetMap under that name or as Piedra de Amolar, so the point cannot be checked against a mapped place. The label gives no altitude; SRTM gives 144 m at the point. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: about 950 m.
Editorial treatment
Municipality. The label gives Maicao, the catalogue Albania. No municipality page has been decided for Colombia, so the admin field is left empty and the page names both in the prose.
Determination. The catalogue gives P. Bunch, 4 October 1981, for all five sheets; HUA 10730 carries a 1981 determination slip. HUA 54831's label, read on a photograph, also gives Det. Ramiro Fonnegra 1980. The identified-by field takes the later determination the catalogue records.
Collector. The catalogue enters Fonnegra R.; the label gives Ramiro Fonnegra G. The collector field takes the initials form.
Image. The image is a phone photograph of the sheet in the herbarium, at 800 × 1440 pixels; neither the herbarium's catalogue on GBIF nor any other portal publishes an image of it. Readings marked uncertain could not be settled at that resolution.
Source discrepancies
- The label gives the municipality as Maicao; the catalogue files the sheets under Albania.
- The label gives Piedras de Amolar; the catalogue's locality field normalises it to Piedra de Amolar.
