Evidentiary scope

The sheet shows that seed from a shipment out of Bogotá was sown and a seedling pressed three weeks later. It does not show where in Colombia the seed was produced, by whom, or where it was sown. Nothing on it shows what kind of population the seed came from, so the accession is classified Unknown. No conservation priority is assigned.

Lineage

The label catalogue entries a sowing of seed from a confiscated shipment, so the accession is a reproduction, as for the other grow-out sheets on the wiki. No generation is given, so the sourcing type is Unknown provenance. No parent accession is set.

Label reading

The label was read from the Missouri Botanical Garden's image of the sheet (Tropicos 105347464), 480 × 640 pixels, on 2 November 2026:

  • CANNABACEAE / Cannabis sativa
  • Confiscated in shipment from Bogota 3 weeks after planting. / Illustrated
  • signature James A Duke

An oval herbarium stamp at the foot names Clyde F. Reed; its number cannot be read at this size. The MO accession stamp reads 5384334. The label names Cannabis sativa; the catalogue gives the genus.

Georeferencing

No point is given. The plant was grown outside Colombia, and the catalogue entry names Colombia as the seed's origin, the shipment having come from Bogotá. The country field carries that origin; the map is off.

Editorial treatment

Title. The sheet has no collector number; the title takes the surname, s.n. and the year. No place is added, because the place of sowing is unknown.

Dates. The catalogue's 8 March 1968 is stored as the sample harvest date, the day the seedling was taken; the seed's own collection date is unknown.

Country. The country field takes Colombia, the origin of the shipment, as for other grow-out sheets.

Image. Missouri Botanical Garden publishes the photograph under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, the licence the file page carries.
