The label gives the county, the month and the collector. It names no habitat, use or note on cultivation. The accession is classified Other and no conservation priority is assigned.

Label reading

Read twice, independently, from the Chinese Virtual Herbarium's image of the sheet (PE 00557895, 1,035 × 1,440 pixels).

The two readings agree: 42061 on the form, 42064 on the tag and the slip, and 1931 printed on the tag's stock against 1932 on the form.

Georeferencing

Hsien is a county, so the label names Huailai County (怀来县), today in Zhangjiakou, Hebei. The point 40.34, 115.62 is the middle of the county's administrative area in OpenStreetMap (relation 3295552, about 1,776 km²), checked to fall inside it; SRTM gives 517 m there, and the label gives no altitude. The present area is taken for the county of 1932. It is an area point for the county, not the place the plant was gathered. Basis: district point. Uncertainty: about 24 km.

Editorial treatment

Number and title. The form's header reads 42061; the tag, the determination slip and the catalogue read 42064. The title takes 42064, on which three of the four agree.

Province. Wikidata places Huailai County in Chahar province from 28 June 1928 to 3 September 1937, so in 1932 the county lay in Chahar; the tag's Hopeh names the expedition. The province field takes Hebei, the present province.

Collector. The collector field keeps the label's H. F. Chow, unlinked, as on Chow 41363 (1931).

Date. The form gives September 1932, which is stored; the tag's printed 1931 is the year of the tag stock.

Image. The Chinese Virtual Herbarium publishes its images under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, so the page cites each sheet's image and shows none.
