Evidentiary scope

The article rests on a single cocogenes.com listing ("Kalga | Parvati Valley"), archived from 16 January 2021; two later captures (27 June 2022, 24 April 2024) carry the same place description and are not separately cited. The same text is reused, word for word, on the 2021 reproduction listing ("Sister Villages : Kalga 2021"), drafted separately at COC-IND-HIM-0120200001-R1. Georeferencing

The listing states a coordinate, "31.2926° N, 77.9963° E". Checked against OpenStreetMap on 23 September 2026 (reverse geocode of the stated point): the coordinate lies at Bhatwari, in the hamlet of Banwari, Chirgaon, Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh — about 94 km south-southeast of Kalga as OpenStreetMap places it (a hamlet within Pulga village, Bhuntar, Kullu district; forward-geocoded separately as node 756382656). This fails the OpenStreetMap check this batch's ruling sets (RULINGS_2026-09-23.md §3): the point lands in the wrong district entirely, about 94 km from the place named. Per that ruling, the coordinate is recorded here, verbatim and attributed, and the infobox coordinates field is left empty. elevation is entered as 2500 from the listing's stated altitude, which is not a coordinate and is not part of the failed check.

As background only, not used to correct the accession's own coordinate: OpenStreetMap places a hamlet named Kalga inside Pulga village, Bhuntar, Kullu district, at 31.9968, 77.4517 — consistent with the listing's own description of Kalga as reached via the Kheerganga pilgrimage route, and with Pulga's (this batch's separate accession) stated altitude and district. Possible duplicate

No existing accession on this wiki carries locality = Kalga; this is a new place at the accession level. It should not be read as unrelated to the neighbouring, better-documented Pulga and Grahan material in this same batch — OpenStreetMap places a hamlet called Kalga inside Pulga village itself (see Georeferencing) — but nothing read for this batch states that Coco Genes' Kalga and Pulga lines are the same population, so they are drafted as separate accessions.
