Identifier

The accession identifier is CBG-PAN-UNK-0120120001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.

  • Holder segment CBG stands for Cannabiogen.
  • Country segment PAN and province segment UNK. The listing names Panama and no place within it.
  • Year 2012 is the year of the earliest dated document found that lists the line: Cannabiogen's Spanish limited-release catalogue, captured by the Wayback Machine on 29 October 2012 (http://www.cannabiogen.com/ediciones-limitadas/index.html). No source gives a collection year, so, as for other vendor accessions without one, the identifier takes the first attested year. A Wayback Machine capture shows when the archive saw a page, not when the line went on sale, so the year is a lower bound and moves if an earlier capture or catalogue is found.
  • Month 01 is the placeholder used when the year comes from first attestation.

Sourcing

Cannabiogen's own pages, read from Wayback Machine captures: the Spanish limited-release catalogue of 29 October 2012 and the product pages of 28 January 2013 (packs of three and five). Neither product page has a description.

The statements about the line are the company's and are attributed to it. No collector, farmer, collection site or collection date is named, and no independent source for the line's origin was found.

Typing

  • Classification: Other. Cannabiogen's account of the line is its own and is attributed in the article; a vendor listing does not establish the class of the source population.
  • Sourcing type: Unknown provenance. The listing gives no chain of custody from the source population to the seed on sale.
  • Accession type is left empty. The product name says the seed is a feminised S1, but no source names the plants it was made from, so the page is not typed Reproduction and carries no parent accession.
  • Cultivation status: Unknown. The company's home page still offered seed in April 2021 and only its Delta nutrient range in May 2022 (see Cannabiogen). That says nothing about whether anyone still grows the line.
  • Traits. The listing gives one flowering figure, 12 weeks, entered as both minimum and maximum.

Archived versions

Listed in the Spanish limited-release catalogue on 29 October 2012, 17 December 2012 and 27 January 2013. It is not in the catalogue captured on 3 July 2013 or later, nor in any English limited-release catalogue captured. The catalogue also listed a "PUNTA ROSA" ("Sativa Panama/Colombia"), which the company calls a hybrid between Panama and Colombia; that is a different product and is not this accession.

Georeferencing

No coordinate is asserted. The listing names Panama and no collection point, region or town.

Conservation priority

Not rated. The listing gives nothing about the size or status of a source population.
