Identifier

The accession identifier is CBG-COL-UNK-0120130001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.

  • Holder segment CBG stands for Cannabiogen.
  • Country segment COL and province segment UNK. The listing names Colombia and, within it, only the north and centre of the country, which are compass directions, not places.
  • Sequence 0001. CBG-COL-UNK-0120120001 (Colombia Mangobiche) shares the country and province segments but not the year.
  • Year 2013 is the year of the earliest dated document found that lists the line: Cannabiogen's English limited-release catalogue, captured by the Wayback Machine on 1 May 2013 (http://www.cannabiogen.com/en/limited-releases/index.html). No source gives a collection year, so, as for other vendor accessions without one, the identifier takes the first attested year. A Wayback Machine capture shows when the archive saw a page, not when the line went on sale, so the year is a lower bound and moves if an earlier capture or catalogue is found.
  • Month 01 is the placeholder used when the year comes from first attestation.

Sourcing

Cannabiogen's own pages, read from Wayback Machine captures: the English limited-release catalogue of 1 May 2013 (Spanish fields: genetics, flowering, yield), the Spanish product page of 8 June 2013 (the description used in the article) and the English product page of 10 June 2013 (the same three fields, no description).

Every statement about the line is the company's account of its own stock and is attributed to it. No collector, farmer, collection site or collection date is named, and no independent source for the line's origin was found.

Typing

  • Classification: Other. Cannabiogen's account of the line is its own and is attributed in the article; a vendor listing does not establish the class of the source population.
  • Sourcing type: Unknown provenance. The listing gives no chain of custody from the source population to the seed on sale.
  • Accession type is left empty: the listing does not say whether the seed on sale is the original collection or a reproduction of it.
  • Cultivation status: Unknown. The company's home page still offered seed in April 2021 and only its Delta nutrient range in May 2022 (see Cannabiogen). That says nothing about whether anyone still grows the line.
  • A mix of Punto Rojos. The company says this first version crosses Punto Rojos from different parts of Colombia. It is kept as one accession of the named Colombian line, as the company sold it; the listing names neither the source lots nor where they came from.
  • Traits. The flowering times in the infobox are the company's figures. The listing names no specific aroma, so the aroma field is empty.

Other lots of the line

Hippie Cannabis Genetics sells a Punto Rojo credited to other sources. No source read connects the two lots.

Archived versions

Listed in the English limited-release catalogue on 1 May 2013, 21 December 2013 and 21 February 2014, and in the Spanish one on 3 July and 4 August 2013.

Georeferencing

No coordinate is asserted. The listing names Colombia and, within it, only the north and centre of the country.

Conservation priority

Not rated. The listing gives nothing about the size or status of a source population.
