Discussion

Polygon provenance

Polygon traced freehand on geojson.io satellite imagery (April 2026):

  • Vertices: 14
  • Area: 1.16 km²
  • Centroid: 31.9662°N, 77.3557°E
  • Bbox: 1.12 km N–S × 2.06 km E–W

The smallest of the three appellation polygons in the cluster. Shares its northern edge with Grahan.

Naming

Page URL uses the (appellation) suffix to disambiguate from any future locality page. Display title is the bare name "Pulgi" via DISPLAYTITLE.

Not to be confused with Pulga, a separate village north-west of the Saar Pass on the trekking route to Tosh and Kheerganga. Pulga and Pulgi are routinely confused in trip reports and online write-ups; the distinction matters for accession provenance.

Hierarchy

  • Growing region: Western Himalayas
  • Growing area: Parvati Valley
  • Appellation: Pulgi

Subdivision under Kullu District

The Accession Masterdoc lists "Sosan District" for accessions in this side valley. This is not a recognised standard subdivision name in Indian administrative geography. Likely candidates for the actual tehsil or sub-division are Sainj or Banjar, but this needs verification.

Accession query

The Accessions section relies on the SMW property Has appellation resolving to "Pulgi (appellation)". This property has not yet been formally created on the wiki (Page needed). Until it is, the rollup query may silently return zero rows.
